Subtra AI ("we", "our", or "us") is a language learning extension designed to help you master new languages through video subtitles. This policy details how we handle your data when you use our translation and training features.

Data We Collect

• Authentication: We use Google OAuth via Supabase to manage your account. This includes your email address and a unique User ID.
• Interaction Data: When you use translation shortcuts (Alt+X/Alt+V), we collect the subtitle text, the media title (e.g., YouTube video name), the source URL, and the specific video timestamp to provide context for your learning.
• Learning History: Your saved sentences, word bank entries, quiz results, and AI-generated training content are stored securely on our backend via Supabase/Cloudflare Workers.
• Local Preferences: Settings like your target language are stored locally in your browser to personalize the UI.

Third-Party Services

To provide high-quality translation and data syncing, we rely on:

• Supabase: Our primary backend and database provider (Supabase Privacy).
• Google OAuth: For secure sign-in authentication.
• Translation Engines: Subtitle text is processed through our secure Cloudflare Worker proxy which communicates with industry-standard translation APIs (like DeepL).

Permissions Explained

• Storage: To save your progress and settings.
• Identity: To sync your data across devices.
• ClipboardWrite: To allow you to quickly copy your User ID or translations when requested.
• WebNavigation: To ensure the translation tools are available across different frames and page transitions.

Data Retention & Security

Your data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. We retain your vocabulary and history as long as your account exists. You can clear your history or delete your account at any time within the extension settings.
